Alexis Schnakenburg, PA-C

Alexis “Lexi” Schnakenburg is a board-certified physician assistant with a passion for women’s health. Born Australian and raised Texan, Lexi graduated with a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in August 2020 before beginning her tenure at Women’s Health Group where she previously trained as a student.

Lexi’s special interests include contraceptive care, sexually transmitted infections, infertility, and high-quality prenatal and postpartum care. As a surgical assistant, Lexi also performs caesarean sections and minimally invasive gynecological surgeries with Dr. Michael Awad.

Before graduating Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 2018, Lexi dedicated thousands of hours volunteering at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and gained valuable clinical experience working in the Banner Desert Medical Center emergency department for over three years. As a proud Chicagoan, Lexi continues to dedicate herself to community service at Cook County Hospital and Swedish Hospital, spending the first several months of the pandemic on the front lines working with critical Covid patients during the state’s greatest need.

As the newest member of the practice, Lexi adds enthusiasm, compassion, and excellent care to a well-established, highly reputable family-owned clinic. She is honored to be a part of the leading-edge advancements at Women’s Health Group.
